First day back in the gym today and boy was it a rough one. Felt good and strong overall, and feeling good despite some poor eating at work over the last few days.
WOD:
“Eva”
5 rounds for time:
800m Run
30 Kettlebell Swings 70lb
30 Pull-ups
Finished 4 rounds
34:52
So my workout felt pretty good today. I paced myself accordingly as I knew this was going to be a long workout and I really felt quite good. Running was done on a treadmill. First 3 rounds I kept the 800m under 4 minutes which I felt was a decent pace. Swings and pull-ups were broken through every round. That 70lbs felt quite heavy by the end. 4th round I started cramping pretty bad on the treadmill, so I had to slow it way down, cramps went away as the 800 ended so I continued on to the swings. Swings went fine, then got to the pull-ups. Hands started to tear, and I took a huge chunk out of my hand, finished the last 8 reps in the set and called it given the blood coming out of my hand. I had about 4 almost tears and I just wasn’t willing to deal with my hands getting completely destroyed. Happy with my workout. Would have had at least a minute off the time if I hadn’t cramped up, and could have gone a little faster on the pull-ups if my hands weren’t starting to tear. So looking forward to opening a box so I don’t have to deal with a rubber coated pull-up bar. Cheers.
