First daily post on the blog portion of the website. I will doing personal training posts until I open an actual Affiliate where I will be doing posts for the gym.

Today marks 30 days on Paleo. Was 184 at the start, and I was 180.2 this morning. I’m visibly leaner and I’ve gotten a little stronger. I’ve been solely doing a Paleo diet, not a zone paleo, although I am going to start keeping track of everything I’m taking in to make sure that I am getting enough nutrients. Over these 30 days I’ve had 4 cheats, most of them being dessert based, with one being a pasta and bread based dinner. In addition to that I also have whey protein in my diet, ketchup and occasionally ranch/caesar salad dressing. Other then those three items and my cheats, I’ve had no grains, legumes, dairy, or sugar.
On to the training for the day. I’m currently following the Crossfit.com WOD, and have started to add in some additional strength work. I personally feel that the WOD’s need a little more strength work, especially in the squatting department which often shows up in some form in the met-cons. I’ve begun fitting in the strength work where I feel it works without turning the training day into something to taxing.
Strength Work: Barbell Back Squat
45×10, 135×10, 185×8, 225×3, 245×3, 255×3 (my max as of two weeks ago was 275)
WOD:
25 Squats, Push-ups, Pull-ups, Sit-ups
50 Squats, Push-ups, Pull-ups, Sit-ups
75 Squats, Push-ups, (7 Pull-ups), Sit-ups
Time 25:20
So I wasn’t able to do the WOD as I planned to. I destroyed my hands last Monday and unfortunately they still aren’t healed. I did tape them, but the tape lasted for about 15 pull-ups. The skin started breaking down again, and a different area actually ripped, so I decided to can the last set of pull-ups. I tried to do strict ones, but was doing 2 or so at a time at that point, and I felt that trying to do 75 like that would deter from the met-con basis of the workout. Pretty happy with the workout overall though. My arms and chest are torched, and my legs are pretty worked between the weighted and body weight squats.
