WOD PATHS: An Explanation Of Our New Programming Structure
WOD PATHS: An Explanation Of Our New Programming Structure As many of you may have noticed there have been a handful of recent renovations to the gym, one of those has come in a new structure to our programming. We’ve torn down the whiteboards, slapped up a couple of TV’s and given you all new paths to follow in your given pursuits of greater health, strength, and overall well being. I would like to apologize for not getting this information out sooner, I put the programming out a few days before this explanation and it has left some of you a bit confused and asking questions on what they should be doing. While I know we all come to Champlain Valley CrossFit for the same thing, CrossFit and the best training and facility around, I understand that within our community of athletes there…
Your First Competition
From Dani First Competition I get a lot of athletes asking me questions about competing; here are a few things I would recommend from personal experience. 1) The week leading up to the competition do not change a thing, keep everything the same. Don’t try new shoes, eat new food or try a new jump rope, keep everything the same. This is not the time to experiment with new technique or supplements, be confident with your training leading up to the competition. After the competition if you want to try new technique, food, or gear go for it. Whenever I finish a competition I always write a reflection about what I learned from the competition, what went well and how I need to improve. 2) Make sure that you eat and drink enough food leading up to the competition. Evening Schedule Change
As the New Year approaches we expect to be busy as always. Although we don’t take on a flood of new members, many of you who have been taking it a little easy that last couple of months come back in and start hitting it hard again. The transition in the evening from the 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM class is already tight and often chaotic. Because of this, and the inevitable busy classes to start the year we will be permanently changing the 6:30 PM class time to 6:40 PM. I realize some of you feel this is an inconvenience, but the class often doesn’t get started until this time anyway on busy nights, so this will allow the coaches to run the class in a more efficient and organized manner.
New Products/Supplements
For quite some time now myself and Dani constantly get asked about supplements, what to eat, and what do we use. If you haven’t noticed we’ve just recently started carrying a few new products. The choices we’ve made to carry these products come from both the results and quality of the products, as well as the support they show for the CrossFit community as a whole. There is nothing crazy up on this shelf, simple, effective products, that we’ve found work well. We like the way they taste, and they are relatively if not extremely clean products. If you would like to purchase something please don’t hesitate to ask one of the coaches working…and PLEASE, don’t take something and leave a random pile of cash behind the desk. I understand the gym gets hectic and it might be a minute before one of…
