10 Years
It’s 4:30 AM, alarm clock blaring, no sign of light as the days have gotten shorter. I get up, get dressed, and go make 4 slices of bacon and 4 eggs before heading off to my first real day as an adult and business owner.
August 25th, 2010, getting ready to open in what would seem like a closet today.
Wow how time flies. While some things haven’t changed, many have. As those who have been a part of the CVCF community for some time all know, I tend to write some long winded e-mails, blog posts, whatever you might want to call them, so I’ll do my best to keep this one short.
For me the scariest thing in life is how quickly time can pass, and at moments I don’t even know how 10 years went by so quickly. At the same time when I look back, the people, the experiences, the ups and downs, it has certainly been an incredibly busy and experience packed last 10 years.
As we role into a second decade of CVCF I can’t thank you all enough. You have all played your role in creating an amazing place and community of people that have provided so many with so much. From creating jobs, a place to train, many individuals finding a new community with new friends, wives and husbands have come together, babies have been created, lifelong friends have been made, new passions and desires have been found, long term health and mobility have be regained, increased self-esteem and creations of attitudes of not, “can I do this”, but “how will I do this,” have been built. The list goes on in hundreds, likely thousands of ways that CVCF has positively impacted so many people’s lives including our own.
“Murph” we’ll see you next year
Most importantly I have to thank my amazing wife who rarely gets the credit she deserves, for standing by my side, and helping keep us both afloat when times have been tough. Without her, there likely wouldn’t be a second decade for CVCF. From working 100 hour weeks, grinding out projects at the gym on a Sunday evening, the constant communication with many of you helping with guidance and understanding while we’re sitting in bed on a Saturday night, programming much of our training, and working by my side to help make sure everyone is taken care of in a business which barely ever sleeps. Thank you so much Dani for helping create a foundation and support system to build our amazing gym and community to what it is today.
As I look ahead there are no immediate plans, changes, or decisions for the future. There is just the continued drive to build the coolest gym around, and to continue to foster a business, community, and belief system that offers support to anyone and everyone as long as they’re willing to come in and give 100%, understanding that we get to go the gym everyday, we get to suffer, we get to work hard, we get to bleed, laugh, and cry once in a while, because we are alive and get to experience all of these feeling’s and opportunities.
Thank you all so much for everything you have helped provide us, as well as each other. From the bottom of my heart, Dani, and the rest of the coaches, you have all made CVCF what it is today and we look forward to continued years of watching you all conquer new milestones and prove to yourself that you are capable of what you set your mind to, sometimes you just need to take the first step and truly commit!
Have an amazing day, enjoy the sunshine, and remember to be thankful for everything we DO have and everything we GET to experience.
Jade, Dani, and the CVCF Team
