Great day of training today. Lower back is a little sore from yesterday, but other then that I felt pretty good. Got to the gym and stretched a little and then decided to work on double-unders. It’s been like a week and half since I tried them because of my shin splints. Low and behold my shins acted up within about a minute. This is really pissing me off at this point. I kept going, they didn’t hurt badly but there was definitely pain there. Hopefully I don’t wake up with a bunch of pain tomorrow. For what I did do, the double-unders were okay, got a few sets of 8 or 10, and a bunch of 4, 5, 6. It’d be nice if my shins would heal so I could really work on double-unders.
Warm Up: 3 rounds of
5 45lb Barbell Deadlift
5 Pull-ups
5 45lb Barbell Overhead Squat
5 Push-ups
5 12lb Medicine Ball Clean + Squat
5 Sit-ups
WOD: Pull-up ladder. Do 1 pull-up the first minute, 2 pull-ups the second minute, 3 pull-ups the third minute, until you can no longer complete the given pull-ups in the minute.
Got through 12 minutes.
Strength: Clean + Jerk
135×3, 155×2, 165×2, 175×1, 185×1, 190×1
So the pull-up ladder was going good until my hands started to rip again. I called it quits as I was in no way destroying my hands again. At that point my back was pretty worked, but I feel I definitely could have made the round of 13 pull-ups and maybe the round of 14, I think a good goal for next time is 15 providing my hands don’t rip.
Strength work was great. First few sets of were a little tough, I was having trouble getting form down. This was a 10lb PR so I was damn pumped, and 10lbs more then my body weight. The last rep was probably the best to, really let my hands go once the bar was cleaned so that I could sit back on my heals more and get my elbows up higher. Definitely pumped on the lift, I know clean + jerk singles are coming up next week I believe so I’m hoping to hit at least 195, maybe 200.
